The Philippines has been dominating the pageant world since 2010 and even dethroned the "pageant powerhouse" Venezuela in 2015 and 2016 according to Global Beauties. And male pageant is not an exemption to this. Male pageants are now on the rise in the Philippines. And one promising regional male pageant is about to start. This is Ginoong CALABARZON 2018.

The birth of a pageant
"Ginoong CALABARZON" is a competition that promises to elevate Male Pageants in the Southern Tagalog Region on a new level! CALABARZON stands for the province of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon. The grand launch happened last April 15, 2018, at 1:00PM in Penthouse West Avenue Suites, Quezon City.
The three titles
Three titles will be awarded comes finals night. The Ginoong CALABARZON winner will have the responsibility to represent Southern Tagalog on various activities and opportunities outside the region. He will be the face of the organization and will commit himself to certain causes and for the greater good. He must be a role model and an epitome of a man with good heart, love for tourism, arts, education, culture, and heritage.
The winner of Ginoong CALABARZON Turismo will be the region's tourism ambassador who will get to travel around Southern Tagalog to promote and support tourism-related activities. He will work with the Ginoong CALABARZON Organization and other private and government agencies that support various causes. And he will be the new face of our region's booming tourism industry and must embody the culture, heritage, and love for the environment. While Ginoong CALABARZON Kabataan winner will be the face of the region's younger generation. He must embody the qualities and traits of "Modelong Kabataan". He will also be given a chance to travel the region as an ambassador for the youth and other causes particularly in sports, education and the arts. And must have a fresh, energetic and youthful drive to serve his purpose.

The official crown
The Ginoong CALABARZON 2018 crown was made from pure sterling silver coated in 18k Gold. It has a laurel leaf inspired design which symbolizes the wisdom and characteristics of a Ginoo. The 5 Ruby stones found at the top part of each leaf is for the 5 provinces in the region; Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon. Emerald is for the environment and Blue Sapphire and Yellow Topaz for the color of the Philippine flag. To complete the design, parts of the crown was also embellished with semi-precious stones and Signity Diamonds making it a crown valued at 400k.
The crowns were exclusively designed and made by The crown maker and jeweler, Mr. Manny Halasan. He also created two secondary crowns for this year's pageant. His impressive portfolio includes providing crowns for Miss Asia Pacific, Mutya ng Pilipinas, Miss Scuba Philippines and Miss World Philippines.

The mission of Ginoong CALABARZON Foundation Inc.
The Ginoong CALABARZON aims to look for rightful ambassadors that could best represent the region on a bigger stage. Someone who is not just commercially appealing, but also embodies the values and culture of CALABARZON. The winners should be ready, equipped and empowered to help the organization in achieving its goals and to be a catalyst of change for greater good.
The organization's spirit of enthusiasm
The Ginoong CALABARZON Foundation Inc. was established with enthusiasm from its dedicated and passionate Directors and the people working behind the brand. The organization believes that this is a new bearer of opportunity, a new door towards success and a new beginning for male pageants across the region.

Candidate No. 19, Ricky Gumera representing the province of Cavite was voted as the Darling of the Press by the members of the media.
