The Philippines End Venezuela's Reign as the Number 1 Beauty Pageants' Powerhouse in the World

The Philippines once again proved that it is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to beauty pageants. The country ends the year as the planet's number 1 beauty pageant powerhouse for the second time in a row leaving erstwhile Venezuela to settle for second place according to Global Beauties, a pageant-related website based in Brazil.

This website ranks every participating countries annually based on their placement in the international pageants like Misses Universe, World, International, Supranational and Grand International.

This is in spite of the fact that the Philippines didn't make it in the top 15 semifinals of Miss International, a very low placement in Miss World as compared to the performance of the country during the last six years of Julia Morley's pageant. And even if PH won in Miss Earth, Global Beauties do not consider it in the scoring.
