Miss Peru to reign as Miss Grand International 2017
Laura, dressed in a shimmering gold backless dress, burst into tears at the announcement, after winning the hearts of the audience by answering the final question, if you have to issue a law to punished criminals of war and violence, how would you punished these people and why? Miss Grand Peru answered,
If i have to issue a law that punishes people that make the war and violence, i will take them to live in refugee camps so they can feel the pain, the suffering and the devastation the families go through because of war and violence. I will take them from a certain amount of time to live in refugee camps. That will be my law for the people that creates war and violence.
Laura won over runner-up Miss Grand Venezuela Tulia Aleman Ferrer. The second runner-up was Miss Grand Philippines, Elizabeth Durano Clenci while Brenda Azaria Jimenez of Puerto Rico and Nikola Uhlirova of Czech Republic were crowned third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Miss Grand Peru beat 76 contestants to take the crown from 2016 winner, Miss Indonesia, Arista Putri Pertiwi.
The winner of Miss Popular Vote which give her the right to passed directly to the top 10 finalists was Miss Grand Indonesia Dea Goesti Rizkita. The other delegates who made it to the top 10 were Miss Grand Ukrain Snizhana Tanchuk, Miss Grand South Sudan Eyga Mojus, Miss Grand Thailand Premika Pamela and the host country Miss Grand Vietnam Huyen My Tran Nguyen.

Rizkita, one of the crowd favorites, also won for her national costume while Miss Grand Paraguay Lia Duarte Ashomore won the Best in Social Media Award.
On the other hand, Miss Grand Costa Rica Maria Amalia Matamoros and Miss Grand China Xuejiao Chen won the Best in Swimsuit and Evening Gown awards, respectively.
Miss Grand International is a pageant for peace. The main advocacy of the pageant is to bring peace and to show awareness of the negative effects of war through this pageant.
Nicole Cordoves, Miss Grand International 2016 1st runner-up and Filipino actor Xian Lim hosted the event.
This was the second straight year the Thailand-based Miss Grand International pageant has been held outside Thailand.
