Cynthia Thomalla is the 1st Filipina Miss Eco International

The Philippines has just proved once again that it is a forced to be reckoned when it comes to beauty pageants. After bringing home the 1st Reina Hispanoamerica 2017 crown courtesy of Teresita "Winwyn" Marquez and the 1st Miss Multinational 2018 crown courtesy of Sophia Señoron, the best pageant fans in the world are now celebrating the very first Filipina winner of Miss Eco International 2018.





What is Miss Eco International?

Miss Eco International is an international beauty pageant founded by LTCP-UN project.

It is an International Beauty competition that brings together representatives of different cultures and traditions from all over the world. Its main objective is to promote the importance of saving our planet environmentally in addition to marketing tourism across the world. This competition focuses on the wellness of the mind, body and spirit of all the candidates that represent all the countries from all over the world.

The Purpose

The purpose of establishing Miss Eco International is to market Tourism in general and Eco-tourism in particular under the slogan "beauty for a cause". 
It is also linked to the concept of beauty queen but we only use beauty to deliver our message to keep the planet safe.

Delegates were judged on many levels such as the interviews, where independent judges ask questions to determine their views in Life - society and their role in it - the role of women in the impact of the economy and environment and how she plans to continue to make a difference, regardless of the results of the competition.

Although physical fitness is an element of the competition, but the pride of one's healthy body is more important than the actual size or shape. Wellness of the mind, body and spirit are the key elements of the fitness competition. Harmony of these three elements perpetuates the rider's ability to serve others.

The Winner

The 23-year old Cynthia Thomalla who represented the Philippines by winning Miss Eco Philippines during her national pageant was crowned Miss Eco International 2018 in Egypt. Thomalla took the crown ahead of candidates from Indonesia, Peru, Vietnam, and Costa Rica.


The Winning Answer




Thomalla, dressed in a stunning red gown won the hearts of the audience by answering the final question, what do you think is the most important thing that beauty pageants add to people?

I think that the most relevant thing that beauty queens can add to the world is by raising awareness on their own causes. For example, Miss Eco International is raising the advocacy in sustainable tourism and protecting the environment. And that is the main point of doing beauty pageants. By raising our voices to help the earth.

The Runners-up

Thomalla won over runner-up Miss Eco Indonesia Astira Intan Vernadeina. The second runner-up was Miss Eco Peru, Kelly Poldy Rivera Kroll while Nguyen Thu Dung of Vietnam and Glennys Dayana Medina Segura of Costa Rica were crowned third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Miss Eco Philippines beat 51 contestants from around the world to take the crown from 2017 winner, Amber Bernachi of Canada.

Cynthia Thomalla is the third queen from the Miss World Philippines 2018 to make history, the first being Teresita Ssen Marquez who is the first Filipina to win Reina Hispanoamericana and Sophia Señoron, the very first Miss Multinational from the Philippines.
